Hello. Could you please help me? Is the following sentence correct using the verb "gain"?
- When Mazen’s father died, Mazen gained a lot of money as inheritance.
Thank you
I'm not sure I'd say it's incorrect, but it's an unusual use of the verb 'gain'.
We do speak of investments or currencies 'gaining' value, but as far as I know it's used in the way it is in your sentence. That said, it is intelligible.
I would probably say, 'he inherited a lot of money'.
I spend most of money on my son's education fee. He is five year olds this year. I hope he will be a good citizen in the future. I also spend money on things that I like to do.
I spend most of my money on cafe and education, for example course.
